Photographing Bling/Crystals
I had the opportunity to do a fun little test shoot recently where I photographed 2 different models wearing glasses and a respirator, blinged out with crystals. These products were “blinged” by Goddess Armor, a small local online business by Audrey Gaddis, queen of the crystals!
Here are a couple shots of model and aerialist Yesenia Adame wearing the glasses, posing the ultimate “extra” look. This bleeds GLAM. I loved experimenting with the lighting in these; I noticed they took on a unique look both when directed at the light and away from it. I reduced the exposure in most shots over the crystals in post processing, to make them pop more.
Then, there was the Pride-inspired respirator, which I appropriately called on Cali Miles to model! Her hair really completed the picture. This is an unedited version. I used one backlight (left) and one key light (right). The back light I used had a rectangular softbox with grid and key light was beauty dish with double diffusion.
I had so much fun with this shoot, I even went back and did a selfie photoshoot with the glasses.
Here I introduced color gels for a unique look. Again, testing.
